Founded in 2025, Antwan's Caring Hands was created in memorial of the Founder's brother, Antwan Tucker. During the early 2000s, Antwan was diagnosed with terminal cancer, requiring extensive care. Being recently released from the State prison system, Antwan did not have the medical coverage required to commence treatment. As the Power of Attorney, Melinda sought adequate coverage and resources primarily suited for cancer patients. Through extensive research and networking Melinda fought to receive the medically necessary coverage for hospital care, outpatient treatment, and prescription medication. During this time, Melinda discovered a need for patient advocacy for those requiring assistance, but unaware of the available resources. As a commitment to Antwan, the Founder pledged to create a safe space for those seeking sustainable housing resources, medical needs, and intellectually stimulating programs.
